NAME OF THE CULTURE: EKET

CULTURE OF AKWA BOM STATE
Culture is defined as the total way of life people in a particular society so there is no human society without a culture. But what is important is that some societies are keen in their culture than others.
Akwa Ibom state was named after Qua Iboe River and its located in the coastal south-southern part of the country, it was created in 1987 from the former cross River State and its capital is uyo. Along with English, the main spoken languages are Ibibio, Annang, Eket, and Oron.
Akwa Ibomites are homogenous group of people believed to have originated from a single ancestral stock. Language similarities exist among the ethnic groups and they readily express similar customs.

Talking of the apparels in the photo, what is seen there is very common in Akwa Ibom dressing list.

My dressing on the contest photo as shown on the photo can be worn for a marriage introduction as same as traditional marriages. It is just simple and natural. Apart from the dressing, I so much love my (Akwa Ibom) culture, starting from the spoken languages, the way of greetings, the way traditional marriages are being done, the large deposits of oil and gas, both on and offshores, plus other material mineral resources such as limestone, clay, gold, coal, silver nitrate and glass sand.

The favourable cultivation and extractions of agricultural and forest products such as palm produce, rubber, cocoa, rice, cassava, yam, plantain, banana, maize, and timber.
Most especially, good Governors, like the present Governor (Governor Godswill Akpabio), whom I wish the constitution could permit sitting for a third-term.
I love my culture! I love my state!
